Hello, Dear Friends!
As more and more people (myself included) are wanting to depart as much as possible from the madness of social media, I felt it was the perfect time to begin the weekly newsletter project I’ve been musing on for a while! You can subscribe to the newsletter here if you’d prefer to get these posts by email instead.
While national lockdowns continue all over the world (whatever your opinions of that may be, and mine are many), we are collectively pushed into re-evaluating the way we want to “do” life and question whether or not the old ways are really working for us. Faced with the prospect of not being able to do a whole lot else in the “external” world, attention for many is turning to how we might go about establishing a thriving creative life amidst turbulent times, for this is one of the places where when all else fails, we will find our sustenance.
More challenging times are ahead for humanity, and it’s becoming increasingly important that we do find ways to carve out a little space in our lives to nurture our own creativity. After all, creativity is the birthplace of the life that we really want to be living, and of the new world that we dream of birthing into being for all of life to share in… without our dedication to birthing our own new lives first, from where will the new world come? It starts with us, and from there, becomes a whole new reality that seemingly in the blink of an eye, is different to anything we have ever known.
Everyone needs an outlet of meaningful self-expression that brings fulfilment to the soul. Without this, depression can result. Yet giving ourselves this gift does not always come easily to everyone. So often I hear from Visionaries who feel stuck in their creative process and are waiting for some burst of confidence to mysteriously come and set them free. Yet confidence comes through action, it comes from expression, from just showing up and starting from where you’re at. From that develops something even greater than confidence: Self-Trust.
Trust yourself that you have it within you to bring forth what is yours to give, all you have to do is show up.
This is a time for reclaiming parts of the self long forgotten, for rekindling the inner fire that calls us here and there to the things that spark our delight. For making these things important again, for giving them their rightful place at the forefront of our previously far too distracted lives. Now that we are losing what so many feared to release; the illusory stability of a world that was always false anyway, who is to say that we cannot design whole new lives where our creativity takes front and centre, and where it may even sustain us in the material ways that were trained to believe required methods that steal our childlike joy?
As the programming of the old world dissolves beneath our feet, this is exactly the new way that is being born. Trust it, believe in it, engage it. Let it be yours. We are at the leading edge of a whole new paradigm that those who came before us have only dreamed of.
The outer world is crumbling, we are called to turn instead to the inner world and explore the rich colours of our Greater Self that yearn to paint across the canvas of our lives with the fullness of all our hearts. Let us not withhold that anymore, or self-deny the calling that is undeniably ours.
To your creative self-actualisation….
Yours, Ciara
